In Easton, Pennsylvania, this classic brick colonial takes on a new kind of beauty after dark. With carefully planned lighting, the home glows softly and naturally—showing off its architecture without being too bright or overdone.

The design focused on highlighting the structure of the house itself. Uplights were placed along the foundation to cast a warm glow across the brick, bringing out its texture and detail. The arched windows and the grand entryway were gently lit to emphasize the home's symmetry and charm.

Instead of using traditional path lights, which can become crooked over time and often look out of place during the day, this project took a different approach. Ambient light bouncing off the home's facade provided enough illumination to softly light the walkway. This helped avoid the clutter of fixtures in the yard while still offering a clear and inviting path to the front door.

One of the standout features is the lighting on the Japanese maple trees in the front yard. These trees already had a strong presence, and with subtle uplighting, they now have a sculptural quality at night. The effect is calm and understated, creating a peaceful mood that fits perfectly with the home’s style.

This Easton project is a great reminder that landscape lighting doesn’t have to be complicated to be effective. With a thoughtful design and just a few well-placed fixtures, a home can be completely transformed after the sun goes down.
